About Karel Hayes

This is my owner,
Karel Hayes. She is a good owner, but sometimes I have to remind her that it's
time for dinner! Karel is an author and illustrator of children's books. She has written 5 books and illustrated over 20 books. You may have seen her illustrations in your Social Studies textbooks or in Appleseeds Magazine. She lives in New Hampshire with her husband, Brent. Their son, John, used to live with them, but he left and took his cat with him. Hooray! When my owner was a young girl she loved to draw and paint!

When she grew up, she visited museums and her paintings have been in many shows. Today you can see her artwork in schools and libraries in NH and Surroundings Art Gallery in Center Sandwich, NH.
